Currently working on the integrative taxonomy and systematics of invertebrates and vertebrates, documenting marine diversity through taxonomic surveys of different geographic areas and islands.

Completed my M.Sc. Aquaculture from Government Arts College, University of Madras, M.Phil. and his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Aquatic Biology & Fisheries from the University of Kerala in 2017 on the research topic “Biodiversity of the Molluscan Fauna of Lakshadweep, India, under the supervision of Dr A. Biju Kumar and completed two years of post-doctoral research from the same department.

As part of my PhD work, more than 500 species of molluscs were documented and photographed in the Lakshadweep Archipelago, after my PhD published a book on Molluscs of the Gulf of Mannar, India, and Adjacent Waters. The comprehensive guide provides a detailed pictorial portrayal of 1041 species of molluscs, including 722 gastropods, 287 bivalves, 7 scaphopods, 21 cephalopods and 4 polyplacophorans. I described five new species and published 43 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, 5 book chapters, and one taxonomy manual, with expertise in indoor and outdoor photography techniques and 3D digitalization technologies.

For the last 15 years, he has been actively involved in student outreach programmes and taxonomy training workshops. Extensive field experience in sea mount exploratory surveys, deep sea trawl surveys and coral reef-associated invertebrates on the Indian coast and Hawaii. Bagged several best presentation awards, student research awards and Conservation Funds.
