As a DST-INSPIRE Fellow, my mind is captivated by the intricate dance of nature, and I yearn to understand it through the lens of birds.
My journey with these feathered marvels began in college, where I volunteered in bird surveys. There, I became mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of colors and intricate patterns adorning their plumage. This initial spark ignited a burning curiosity, which has since blossomed into a lifelong passion for avian life. Passionate about the diversity and ethology of seabirds, I am now, on the cusp of pursuing a Ph.D., with my research focus set on the stunning diversity and foraging ecology of the seabirds gracing the Kerala and Lakshadweep coast. My central question: why do these magnificent creatures call this place home? Through my research, I aim to unravel the secrets that bind them to this unique ecosystem.
In addition to my interest in birds, I am equally passionate about marine mammals and am honored to be a co-investigator in a project funded by the Society of Marine Mammalogy. This role has deepened my commitment to understanding and protecting marine life.
However, my aspirations extend beyond the academic realm. I envision myself as a bridge between the scientific community and the public. By promoting birding and fostering a sense of wonder for the natural world, I hope to ignite a similar curiosity in others. My ultimate goal is to create a wave of awareness and appreciation for the delicate balance of nature, all fueled by the captivating world of birds and marine mammals.
